A wind mitigation inspection documents how well your home can withstand high winds – from roof straps to window protection – so you can save on insurance premiums and protect your family. Our licensed inspectors check for hurricane-rated features (clips, water barriers, impact glass, etc.) and provide the official report insurers require. It’s a quick, high-impact inspection that gives peace of mind during storm season and often pays for itself through insurance discounts. (Florida law encourages these inspections for credits, so we stay compliant with all reporting standards.)

Pricing: Starts at $150.00

Typically, a 4-Point is valid for about 1 year (or until you make significant changes to those systems). A Wind Mitigation report is valid for 5 years in Florida. However, if you upgrade your roof or windows, you’d want a new wind mit to get updated credits.

Your insurer may require that item to be repaired or replaced before issuing a policy (for example, a leaking roof or an old fuse box). We’ll note it in the report and you can work with a contractor to fix it, then we can re-inspect that item and update the report if needed.

No – to receive credits, Florida law requires a certified wind mitigation inspection report. Many homes have features that homeowners don’t even realize qualify for discounts; a wind mit inspection could save you a lot on premiums. It’s a small investment for potentially big savings.

For a 4-Point, just ensure we have clear access to the electrical panel, HVAC unit, water heater, and attic. For the Wind Mit, we’ll need to get into the attic to see roof connections, so please clear any attic access. If you have documentation for your roof replacement or window upgrades (invoices, permits), have those handy – it can help us and your insurance.

A wind mitigation inspection assesses your home's construction features that help it withstand high winds, such as roof shape, roof-to-wall attachments, and opening protection.

Typically 30-60 minutes, depending on home size and accessibility.

Florida's insurance discounts can be significant for homes proven storm-ready.

Yes. Most insurers offer premium discounts if your home meets certain wind-resistance standards.

Usually within your next policy term after submission of the inspection report.

Yes, under Florida statutes, they must consider certified reports for credits.

Roof covering, roof deck attachment, roof-to-wall connections, geometry, secondary water resistance, and opening protection.

You'll receive a detailed report with photos within 24 hours to submit to your insurer.

Prices vary, but most range between $75-$150 depending on home size.

While we can't guarantee savings, we ensure your report meets state and insurer standards.

No. It's a focused evaluation of storm-resistant construction features.
